A SONG FOR ERESHA

Full Length Feature/ 125 minutes/ English/ 2025

‘A Song for Eresha’ is a film crafted in the classical style of doyens of the film industry such as Satyajit Ray and Balu Mahendra. The film follows the story of Eresha, a much venerated Head of a very prestigious Arts Institute. When Eresha falls in love with a young exchange student at her institute, the story traverses a downward spiral that threatens to destroy the institution that Eresha built, and even takes her to the fringes of her own sanity. A highly nuanced and gently told story, ‘A Song for Eresha’ paints a portrait on every frame making the film move like poetry in motion. Apart from starring the eminent danseuse Savitha Sastry, the film features an almost all woman cast, and over a hundred classical dancers from India.
